Katalax is a palatable and easy to administer blend of top-grade, soft white paraffin, cod liver oil and malt extract used to promote the elimination of hairballs or to relieve mild constipation.
Directions: Administer one inch of paste from the tube, once or twice daily. For kittens, half this amount. For fussy cats, smear a small amount of paste on their paw, allowing the cat to lick it off and become accustomed to the taste.

The product I purchased is the best recommended to treat my cats furballs. Unfortunately she doesn't like the taste and it's taking a while for her to get used to it.

I give this to my cat regularly on the advice of my vet. It’s expensive but is an excellent product to help with his constipation also he really likes the taste so there’s no stress when he gets it, he just licks it off my finger.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Katalax Hairballs/Furballs for Cats, including answers from our team.
Hums
Hi,
Can i give Katalax to my cat every day or should it be given only for a limited amount of days.
If your cat is prone to episodes of constipation then this can be given daily in the long term to keep the stools loose and prevent them becoming too hard. Long term use is best carried out as advised by a vet, a normal healthy cat should not need to be on long term laxatives like this. The main use of the product is short term hairball/constipation relief.

Our old cat is nearly 20! He has arthritis severely and suffers from chronic (but stable) kidney disease. He seems to be constipated these days and our vet has suggested lactulose. But we are wondering if there is something better for him. What can you suggest, please? He eats wet food mainly with some dry KD. He drinks water.
Katalax is often given to cats like this. It helps to lubricate things down
there, so that it is easier to pass naturally. It tastes quite good, so
can be put onto the back of the paws to be licked off by your cat. If
that fails, then lactulose is indeed the usual product to try.
