Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Cazitel Plus for Dogs, including answers from our team.
Wendy
Is it safe to give Cazitel plus to my 11 month old jrt. He weighs 7.5 kg at present.
Yes this is safe, your 7.5kg terrier will need 1 x Cazitel Plus tablet at this weight.
Sarah
Is this okay to give to a 17 week old puppy once a month for a few months and then every 3 months after that?
Yes, Cazitel Plus is safe for use in pups once they are weaned, so it will be safe in your 17 week old puppy. It is advised to worm monthly until 6 months at which point this can be reduced to every 3 months based on the risk of worm infection. You may wish to maintain monthly worming if your pup is a known scavenger and around immunocompromised individuals (e.g. young or elderly).

I have bought Cazitel Plus from you. How close to whelping can I dose a pregnant bitch please .She is due to whelp this weekend. Or do I do her immediately after whelping ?
The datasheet for this product states the following:
Use of the product during pregnancy should be in accordance with a benefit risk assessment by the responsible veterinarian. It is recommended that the product is not used in dogs during the first 4 weeks of pregnancy. Do not exceed the stated dose when treating pregnant bitches.
Therefore you will need to contact your vet with regards to advice on when to dose the Cazitel during pregnancy.

How many tablets for my 44.5 kilo dog
Your 44.5kg dog will need 1 x Cazitel Plus XL tablet and 1 x Cazitel Plus tablet, or 4+1/2 x Cazitel plus tablets. I also advise checking out our own brand TermaWorm which contains the same ingredients but you may find cheaper.

I was recently prescribed this wormer by my vets on the understanding it will kill lungworm. Can you confirm this is correct?
As far as I am aware, Cazitel is not licensed for treatment of lungworm in dogs and personally I would not expect it to be effective. There are several types of lungworm in dogs in fact, but there are not many effective treatments for the type of lungworm which is currently causing concern (Angiostrongylus vasorum). I would suggest you ask your vet to check the information - where has your vet got this information from? Is it in writing from a trustworthy source?

My Lancashire Heeler bitch is 50 days pregnant. Is it safe to worm her with Cazitel Plus? She normally has this.
Jane
Cazitel can be used during pregnancy. It is usually advised to avoid the first 3 weeks of pregnancy, but at 50 days it would be safe to worm her. I would suggest worming her again each time you worm the puppies. This can be done from about 3 weeks of age and repeated every 2-4 weeks, depending on the level of worm infestation (which varies immensely). You can break up Cazitel tablets to use for puppies, or use a liquid wormer for them instead.

Hi
Please could you advise me whether these worming tablets are ok for a Jack Russell who suffers from pancreatitis?
Thanks
Cazitel should be fine to give to your dog. Pancreatitis is a poorly understood condition which can recur periodically, but these worm tablets would not be expected to cause any trouble.
